I have a story for you about not settling for my current circumstances, but rather CREATING them.
My husband and I wanted a new home to lease. No big deal right?
Here’s the thing. We didn’t want just any home, we wanted something very specific.
We wanted
an older home
laminate or hardwood floors throughout the entire house
a guest bedroom
an office for me
our desired price range
cats allowed
but MOST of all we wanted our future home to be located in downtown Coeur d’Alene, ID.
For those of you unfamiliar with this area, it’s a resort town. The market for purchasing or leasing a home is highly competitive. The downtown area is near Coeur d’Alene Lake and has an amazing hill to hike along with many other recreational activities. A lot of people want to live in this area. Logically it would appear our chances of finding the right place in the right location would be like winning the lottery.
But the universe doesn’t often operate around what we view to be logical. It operates based on where we choose to focus our energy whether we are consciously aware of it or not.
We searched for months. I even made sure I researched our ability to exit our current lease if necessary should an opportunity present itself.
We had a few leads, but each time someone else beat us to the punch as there would always be dozens of applications for each property and they would be taken on a first come first serve basis.
After several months it looked as if we may have to look in another area if we wanted to move as our current lease was coming up for renewal and we would have to look at going month to month.
Then one Saturday I felt guided to look one more time at a website showing any properties available. There was one. We applied.
We got a call back 4 days later on an older home that has
laminate or hardwood floors throughout the entire house
a guest bedroom
an office for me
our desired price range
cats allowed
AND it is located in downtown Coeur d’Alene, ID. You can even see Tubbs Hill (a popular area for hiking in the downtown area) from our living room window.
Did we have to exit our current lease? Nope. We signed the lease for this home the SAME DAY our other lease was ending. Coincidence? Nope. It was all divinely guided 💯
This didn’t happen by settling for my current circumstances. It happened by CREATING them.
I set an intention.
I visualized the home.
I felt into what it was like to already have the home.
I followed my intuition and took inspired action.
I surrendered to the outcome. Each time a lead didn’t work out I knew that wasn’t the home meant for us and ours was on the way.
Most people think they have to wait for the “right” circumstances in order to have what they desire, BUT IT’S ACTUALLY THE REVERSE.
YOU are empowered to create ANYTHING you want for your life, and you can do it by following the steps I’ve outlined above.
